My path to yoga began at a temple in Honolulu, during a course on the history of religion. I came for the philosophy and stayed for the practice, and that order shaped everything about how I teach. My Vinyasa classes are built on the belief that yoga moves more than muscle. It moves breath, energy, and spirit. My svadhyaya, my self-study, has always been to improve the quality of people’s lives, one breath at a time.
Josee Rayne has made Honolulu, Hawaiʻi home since 2017. She earned her RYT-200 through CorePower Kahala in 2025 and teaches Vinyasa with a calm, steady presence that tends to settle a room before the first pose.
Before the studio, she spent time working in the medical field, and that training still shapes how she teaches. She pays attention to how each body actually moves, works around injuries and limitations without making them the focus, and treats a student’s safety and comfort as the place she starts from.
She also travels often, most recently through Korea and Japan, and has practiced and trained across Asia, including time on the mat in Bali. Time spent in new places, among people she had never met, has made her quick to read a group and comfortable adjusting in the moment.
That adaptability is the point. A private lesson for someone easing back from injury and a sunrise class for a room of resort guests ask for different things, and she reads the difference. What stays the same is the tone: respectful, unhurried, and shaped around the people in front of her.
